The dedicated bar staff here at Metropole has been itching to give everyone an inside look at our ever evolving cocktail program. We’ve received so many questions about our process and what actually goes into creating our delicious drinks that we want to share our stories with you! Since opening a little over a year ago, the lounge at Metropole has found a personality all its own. Every cocktail is an opportunity for us to learn something new and to create something unique and we hope our menus reflect our passion and joy. Starting with the classics, we try to add our own modern and whimsical touches that embody the creativity and playfulness of 21c and Chef Michael Paley’s seasonal menu at Metropole.
We’re obsessed with drinking in (see what I did there?) as much knowledge as we can about the art of cocktails and we can’t wait to share all of our geeky wonderment with you. A serious cocktail always tastes better when it has a lingering finish of merriment, so we hope to not only provide some insight into mixing cocktails, but also have some fun. Check back every last Friday of the month for a new Bar Blip series. We may even post some “secret” cocktails (some old favorites and some new ones! IT or Lieutenant anyone?) for our avid readers not found on our normal printed bar menu.
We look forward to growing our cocktail program and sharing some of our wacky experiments in drink-making along the way. But really, at the end of the day, we honestly can’t wait to make you a drink!
