We survived: Spring is unfolding and cocktails abound with the official re-opening of Cocktail Terrace! Let flavors meld into delicious concoctions conceived by the bartenders at Metropole. Come on up and celebrate the season with a little bubbly poptail like our classic The Kiki, packed with hibiscus, lemon & Cava, or the brand new Koko B. Ware bottled cocktail loaded with refreshing rum and a mango-strawberry syrup (It’s basically flavor heaven.) And if our poptails and bottled cocktails weren’t enough whimsy for you, we have something new for the kid inside us all. Slushies! Try the Tropic Thunder, an Old Forester and charred pineapple slushie. Sweeping views and superb drinks equals springtime perfection!
This year the cocktail terrace is opening April 14, bright and refreshed with new furniture and sunshades. It was the first rooftop bar in the downtown area and boasts whimsical drinks inspired by our staff’s childhood summertime memories. This summer we will be serving bottled cocktails with bendy straws, handmade fruit and booze popsicles with bubbly poured over them, and adult slushies. Chris Brown, Metropole’s beverage manager, is taking a former Metropole fav cocktail, the “DL” and resurrecting it as a frozen summer treat. “It’s our version of the classic cocktail, the Paloma.” says Chris Brown “It’s got tequila, a handmade grapefruit shrub with a coriander salt rim. The combination of the savory coriander and bright grapefruit reminds me of picnics and fresh squeezed lemonade.”
