September marks Bourbon Heritage Month and in honor of 21c Museum Hotels’ Kentucky roots and America’s Native Spirit, 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati and Metropole will celebrate throughout the month. The celebrations will kick off with a Fork & Bottle five-course dinner with drink pairings featuring Wild Turkey Bourbon and will be held on Wednesday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $70 per person and limited seating is available.

Wild Turkey Master Distiller Jimmy Russell will lead a presentation on each bourbon as it is paired with dishes crafted by executive chef Jared Bennett. The five-course dinner will kick off with a reception of passed canapés. Each course is paired with a bourbon cocktail. Featured menu items include:

  • Pike Valley Farm chicken roulade with pecan butter, garlic scape relish and farm greens; paired with The Upper East Side which includes Russell’s Reserve 10 year, Dolin Blanc, Cocchi Americano and pecan bitters
  • Sweet Corn Caramelle with charred mushroom, pancetta, and Parmesan broth; paired with the Lost in the Maize with Wild Turkey Rare Breed, sweet corn, honey and lemon.
  • Butterscotch cheesecake with cranberry apple compote, pecans and ginger paired with The Aristocrat with Wild Turkey 101, allspice dram, and port wine.

“The chance to work with the longest tenured, active Master Distiller is a dream of mine. Jimmy knows Bourbon like no one else knows bourbon,” said Metropole Beverage Manager Chris Brown. “Jimmy Russell is a living legend in the Bourbon world. He’s known as the Master Distiller of Master Distillers for a reason.”

Now with a new format at Metropole, Fork + Bottle is a dinner series which highlights favorite guest brewers, distillers and winemakers with a special menu meant to showcase and compliment the featured beverages. The series will continue in the coming months and will feature Urban Artifact Brewing on October 26 and Middle West Spirits on November 30. Details on those dinners are forthcoming.
