2 Oz silver tequila
1 Oz housemade charred Meyer lemon cordial
3 dashes housemade orange bitters
Measure out all ingredients to mixing glass. Add ice and stir for 20-30 seconds. Strain over fresh ice into rocks glass. Garnish with lemon peel.
Meyer Lemon Cordial:
“We char 10 Meyer lemons, slice them in half, and shove them into a large jar” said Chris Brown, beverage manager, “Then we add 1 liter of a high proof grain alcohol and let it meld for a week. After a week, we strain out the liquid and squeeze the lemons to extract that good caramelized juice as well. Finish it off with 2 cups of simple syrup and stir. Charring the lemons intensifies their flavor and brings out the distinctive floral nature of a Meyer lemon.”
