The Queen City Native Returns Home After 14 Years on the East Coast
21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati and Metropole restaurant are pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Miller as Executive Chef.
“I’ve been watching as Cincinnati’s food scene has developed over time, especially the last five years,” said Miller. “This is a pivotal time in the restaurant industry, and I am thrilled to be here surrounded by this innovative community of chefs. My team and I are looking at new ways we can nourish our guests, whether that’s with us in the dining room or through an experience they can have in their own homes. I’m looking forward to being a part of the next chapter of this restaurant”
Miller is known for her love of local and seasonal ingredients and bright flavors. Her first dishes for Metropole include Scallops served with creamy polenta, summer peaches, bitter greens and black pepper almonds; and Saffron Risotto with char grilled shrimp, Urfa pepper, snap peas and pea tendrils. Miller is slowly transitioning Metropole’s menu and expects to change the current menu at the end of September.
Prior to returning to Cincinnati, Miller spent 14 years working throughout the Northeast and New York City. In 2013, at the age of 24, Miller became the youngest female Executive Chef in New York City when she opened The Dalloway in SoHo.
